In Memoriam

Sep 14, 2008 21:33

I find myself thinking more and more of the past. One of the happiest periods in my life was the 04-05 school year. I met so many people, who have all moved away and left. That, coupled with insanely good music performed that year in all my bands and choirs has left me feeling like it was a period that can't be bested.

Pines of Rome, To Tame the Perilous Skies, Slavenskya, What Sweeter Music, The Faure "Requiem",
Some cool Disney choir arrangements..heh..I wrote my first ever arrangment..which is being published soon! Ah!

I had horrid family issues, (my grandfather nearly died...twice), A terrible break up, a new relationship or two, I met my fiance, all kinds of late-night walks, I started working as an assistant to a band director...for pay!

A wonderful tour of the panhandle with some really good friends, some good concerts.

My thought is, if I had ups and downs, does it make it more memorable than just ups? If you don't have the contrast, is the high as high as it can be? If you only know happiness, do you not really appreciate it? Or does it take being hurt by life to know what it's like to become yourself again?

I did that year.

And you know what?

When I went back to look at the first half of it on this journal, do you know what I found?

....

F-ING NOTHING!! AHH!!

What the HELL #%^ BALLS! I didn't have internet access at my apartment until after the first of the year! Ahhh!!! Crap!!! Shiest!!!! The hell!!!??????

So there you have it...I just wrote about an entire year, in one magnificent entry. Please comment if I knew you back then, so I can think of you when I think of this amazing year.

In memoriam: Hayley, who introduced me to weebl and bob, The girls of 102, my friends and personal saviors (though they don't know why), ((walking, biting, squealing, loving)) Tracy, who is fun, Sarah, who came to my house and drank too much, nestor, casey, lurch, for stealing traffic cones, spring tour, and many swordfights and golf games, and Dawn, who got me through Choral Techniques, and will hopefully get me through the rest of my life. Jessica, Steve, Whitney, Duckworth, Alecia, that guy who made the recipe for lean cuisine swedish meatballs, Mc, Buttons, Gabriel Faure, the movie "laws of attraction", 2004 veterans day program, Adam and the rest, all because they were there and had a major influence.

This is what I think of tonight. I'm sure that more will come..but I haven't been able to stop thinking of it, so I thought if I wrote it all down it would be better. I hope I see them all soon.
