I feel like a sticky post is in order since this journal has been around for a while and is likely to be around for some more time.
I'm not actually marprelate. I'm applegnat, and I used to write Tolkien fic before small fuzzy aliens descended on me one spring morning, chewed my brains out, offered me a job and a move to a different city. The only fic-writing I do these days is sporadic, original or obscure lit-fandom stuff (although I still go back to my WiPs and add a word or two to them on a semi-regular basis). I read to the point of indiscrimation, however, and this may be one of the reasons you are reading this, because this LJ has appeared in your friends-of list. I began marprelate in October 2004 to keep track of Harry Potter ficcers whose work I really liked. As my dark inconquerable desires for slash interests diversify, I'm converting this reading-list into a sort of catch-all for people whose writing I enjoy across fandoms. Deeply idiosyncratic, I know, and rather disloyal fannish behaviour.
I keep this list separate from applegnat for various reasons, among which time constraints loom large. However, when I appear to squee over a post in your LJ, I will probably appear as applegnat, also for various reasons, among which 'too-lazy-to-log-in-and-out-of-eljays' looms large. Not that this is likely to alarm you or anything. (Your life-jacket is stowed under your seat...)
