[Blessedly unaffected by all the weirdness, Ron spent the time on his own, actually thinking about things, about previous years and how really, this is the quietest May he's had since before he went to Hogwarts.

And yeah, Somarium did weird things but he kind of misses the trio, Harry, Hermione and himself and whoever else tagged along, off doing ( Read more... )

What are you actually looking for, the police or some kind of magical hierarchy?

If the former, then yes - though I'm not sure how efficient they are.

If the latter...not really, although I am the self-titled High Warlock of Espoir. It just sounds exciting on a business card and allows me to charge more.

Neither. I'm on the police now but it's more a Muggle thing. Or a dream thing. I just thought that somewhere like this, with this many people and shops and all the weird stuff that seems to go on all the time that there'd be some sort of Muggle/Dream/whatever else works Ministry around.

[Loaded pause. He lives in Espoir, he has never heard of you before.]

I live there for now... Wait, why would you be charging for things?

Because only an idiot - or someone who doesn't know what they're doing would give out freebies.

{Imagine that}

Decency doesn't pay the rent, darling.

I operate within the law. That's enough for me.

Isn't that kind of rude? I mean, the Ministry pays you a salary for doing things, we don't personally ask for money from the people we help.

Well, I don't have a "Ministry" paying me anything. Not here, not at home.

There's nothing wrong with getting paid for services rendered. There's more to my work than waving around a magic stick. It takes energy I could be funneling into something else, like pilates or home improvement.

Pilates?

Work-out regimen, mostly rolling around on a mat and trying to touch your toes while wearing spandex.

I'm sure that's not your style.

Watching boys fly around on brooms is more visually appealing.

I've, uh, I've never really thought about that.

I'm disappointed there hasn't been any practicing in a while.

I'll ask Harry if we're ever going to have a game soon. Even if I don't know half the people on the team.
