See, Julia is a hungry ghost and Corat has a tiny little jar of blood. He got it from Ryuki, who's not volunteering where he got it. But it works and she dives after it before giving up the name of her lover. Bah. Sunae's sword wants a piece of her so badly it's begging.
And Ruby's on a motorcycle leading a grip of cars through suburbia to take down the foolish angel who robbed...curious how she knows there's something of worth there. Or maybe it's just bugging her that there's an angel or four on her turf. That wormhole that Dignity and Nisroc are Singing, that should alert the whole neighborhood? Nope-Ash can muffle Disturbance. The demons have no idea who they're facing or how many. Or how well-dressed. Sunae's options are a formal cheongsam or whatever clothes she can scrounge. Scrounge it is, so she's wearing Kane's shirt and not much else.
Kane has no trouble arming up even in a show house in suburbia, putting together a functional napalm. Ryuki identifies Ruby but she's not in her vessel, which is probably why she was willing to face a nest of possessed wasps with just motorcycle gear on. Three more demons walk up and one of them gives Ryuki a headache, identifying that demon as a Big Guy. Corat rubs his figurative hands together at the thought of taking out Ruby and her minions. Ryuki reminds them that killing her could destabilize L.A. Is that what he means, or does he care? And if he cares, is it for the girl she's possessing or the demon herself? Oh sure, he says it's because he doesn't need another full-time job i.e. running L.A. and keeping Baal out without her around.
Mitch tries reasoning with him, her! her! My students' bad habits are rubbing off on me! help! but even a Tradesman struggles against a determined Lilim. Ryuki is fighting PTSD, but Kane has easily overcome the gas heater and has begun filling the garage with nice flammable gas. Ruby, unaware of the explosives, ramps up the blackmail on Mitch-a favor from every angel in L.A. and me and my minions don't send you and your friends into trauma. Glen is smart enough to avoid direct confrontation and has drawn a ward on the welcome mat. Nisroc fits him with a camera and a microphone and the world's most obvious advice: don't get caught.
Kane, in ethereal form, begins the slaughter of the minions. Corat goes archer machine-gun and between the two of them they irritate the really big demon by sending a few of his minions home to Hell. Zahirah tries to reason with Ruby, Light sister to Dark sister, and while she's not buying today she can't help but hear what she's saying. And then she drops inky darkness on everybody, letting everybody think she's just fleeing when she actually wants to discuss this a bit more privately. Kind of a pity Kane is so far away because he's on fire, nice big bright fire.
