Snark's celestial politics

Aug 14, 2008 11:54

--spoilers--    This was me taking notes for myself, but I'm unlocking it.  Read at your own risk--your character may have some idea of the celestial bits (the first LJ cut) but unless I've mentioned Corat's "cabinet" to you previously you wouldn't know about them, and even then you won't know names.

Khalid is watching quietly in the background.  So slick.  Still if he's in anyone's camp it's Gabriel's.
Gabriel, who is MIA.  His/her guy in charge is Soldekai, who's also the watchful type.

Janus and Michael had a tiff, but they're over it.
Marc doesn't know they're over it.
Marc is peace faction, meaning he's going to side with Novalis if it comes down to that.  He doesn't poo-poo Laurence like she does though.
Yves likes everybody.  Used to be Michael didn't like him, but he's over it.
Michael's over a lot lately.  Has War become a politician?
Laurence is just trying to stay afloat.  He's Purity faction, so he's Dominic's right hand much of the time.
Everybody hates Dominic, except maybe Laurence and Yves.  Dominic's hanging back because he doesn't want to draw the hate.
Novalis is hanging back but she's like that.
Eli is MIA but he's peace faction, and his grubby fingers are in this.  Even if he doesn't realize it.

Jordi doesn't care, except that Chuy is helping save species.

Then there's Corat.  First he's a Windy.  But wait, he's working for War.  But wait, he's working for Velga, who's working for War.  But wait!  She's working for no-name guy Nisroc, who's working for War.  So instead of Windy reporting to Wind, you've got Michael-->Nisroc-->Velga-->Corat.  Let's hope that's all.

If you don't want to know more, don't scroll down/click on link.

Spoiler characters:  Corat's caseload
Ryuki.  The test case--highly controversial, 'second or third' most difficult personality, but significantly best able to defend himself in celestial troubles, as he alone is sure of the existence of celestials.
the Dylan brothers.  Frequent flyers, easygoing guys, probably the least difficult personalities.
Kevin.  Occasional passenger, more often than not Corat flies to him.  More streetwise and almost as smart as Ryuki.
Danae.  Easily the most difficult personality.  Telepath with opinions.  Foster child.  Chip on her black shoulder.
"Heckle and Jeckle".  Frequent flyers, but not well developed as characters.
Chuy.  Guerrilla fighter, ecoterrorist, being nudged and molded to towards his more noble aspirations.
the Anderson family.  Rescue workers and avowed atheists.  Corat often accompanies them on Red Cross and other relief missions.

in nomine online, in nomine, ryuki, corat
