Inventive spelling? More like an excuse to never learn how to spell properly period.
I'm sorry, but there is no eventual transition to correct spelling. I've read over submissions to Luna from supposed eighteen year olds who still insist on spelling things exactly this way. They've never learned how to correctly spell. And these are the people we're sending to college? This is the future? Stop the world, I want off.
It's crap like this in our schools that are contributing to the decay of the English language and the increasing gap between American students and students of other countries. Sure, you know how kids learn... but by encouraging this you're making sure they never improve. It seems teachers are giving kids the clear message that spelling and good writing skills don't matter.
