Update on Jim
Looks like Jim is coming home today! He is responding to the vancomycin well enough to go home with heavy oral antibiotics. He's supposed to see our family doctor on Monday for a status check. The results of the blood culture is that he has community acquired MRSA (resistant staph) infection. If the oral antibiotics are not working, then he will be referred to a infectious disease specialist and probably back in the hospital for a couple of weeks of IV's.
