Textbook of Veterinary Physiological Chemistry. Worst textbook ever written.
When it says BSP(t1/2) on a lab eval, it means they injected the animal with bromosulfophthalein and then measured serum levels a few minutes later to determine the clearance half-time. If the half-time is more than 4 to 5.5 minutes, there's something wrong with the liver. This cow probably has fatty liver syndrome, because the BSP was 7 minutes and there were too many free fatty acids and not enough triglycerides in the plasma.
Owls Head By Rosamond Purcell - I'm not very far into it but it's incredible. It's about a collector of junk in Maine. It's non-fiction and amazing so far.
The True History of the Elephant Man by Michael Howell and Peter Ford - The book is all true and includes great medical facts about Joseph Merrick and tells the story of the elephant man. It's not dry at all and incredibly interesting.
The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis - not really very intellectual reading but a great story even if it is very similar to The Lord of the Rings Trilogy at points. I had never read it before and I'm glad that I'm reading it.
I can't think of anything particularly amazing that I have learned lately, but I will get back to you on that one.
The Truth (with Jokes) - this is Al Franken's new book. He ditches Fox News and Ann Coulter as his targets and instead of saying how much they help an undeserving republican party, simply goes after them. It's funny so far, and good, but I'm more appraised of politics now than I was when Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them came out, so I'm not learning facts so much as a better way to explain them during debate

Polar Bear livers contain a lethal dosage of Vitamin A. Eat one and you will die.
