Ok, so I'm two days early : P
Anyway, Streamload is going to be officially dead on August 8th. Like everyone else my account was cancelled last month with a notice stating they were going completely offline the 8th. All of this after a horrendous movement in April/May from MediaMax. Of course, that was preceeded by the horrendous move from Streamload to MediaMax in the first place... Never quite worked the same after that... It was such a great service, too. I didn't mind paying $100/year for what I could get out of the service. I used it to download anime, soundtracks, tv shows (e.g. US, Korean, Japanese, and Taiwanese live-action shows), and manga. I will miss it.
This post isn't really for anybody but me so much (I don't think anyone I know personally uses SL) - but it's a sad milestone for me as I've been a paying member of SL ever since 2001 and was a free downloader before then practically since anime started going digital (think all the way back when kodomo no omocha was being subbed along with mamotte shugogetten and other older digi-sub titles/VHS captures) Wish I had taken a screenshot of my account before each transition, would have been interesting to compare them now. If only they had kept things the way they started out it would have been continuing on for years to come (no one really wanted any of the moves/updates that they did...).
