And when I awoke I was alone, this bird had flown. So I lit a fire, isn't it good, norwegian wood.

I was up way too late last night, but I can't think of a better reason to be up late. Sean, Shannon, and I went to LaBamba's last night, then Sean and I sat around for hours talking about the musical he's writing about spontaneous combustion. He played the first song for me and it's actually really good...I was more than impressed. Then we listened to Beatles albums and talked about the stories that go along with certain songs and stuff. We both decided that, although not our favorite song, Norwegian Wood has the best story. Come on...John burns her house down at the end...it's vengeful, but brilliant. In the process of all of this wonderful talk of music, we each painstakingly comprised a list of the Beatles songs that we could not live without. This is my list (like anybody but me actually cares about this):

She Said She Said, For No One, Rain, I'm Only Sleeping, Blue Jay Way, While My Guitar Gently Weeps, No Reply, Don't Let Me Down, You've Got To Hide Your Love Away, Dear Prudence, Love You To, A Day In The Life, It's Only Love, Sexy Sadie, Baby Your A Rich Man, Yer Blues, Happiness Is A Warm Gun, Eleanor Rigby, Across The Universe (the Let It Be...Naked version is the best, but I would be more than happy with the regular Let It Be version. The Past Masters one is really bad mainly because of the speed; those bird noises, although somewhat amusing, really take away from the song.)

Two songs that were strongly considered, but did not make the list were:
Good Morning Good Morning and Old Brown Shoe

This was a difficult list to comprise, but I'm glad that I spent most of my time last night listening to Beatles albums. This always happens when I hang out with Sean...our conversation always turns to something music related or Beatles related. I'm glad; I love talking about music...nights up late with Sean are always good although I feel really geeky by the end of the night. Of course, I guess I should feel geeky, spontaneous combustion and the Beatles aren't the "coolest" conversation topics.
