Well, it looks like I've been made Prefect. Only temporarily, of course, but they needed someone to handle Greta's duties while she's...well, I don't know where. I have to admit, I'm really not liking this job at all! I'm quite glad they didn't choose me in the first place. It means I'll have less time to spend with Emily and Zan now, and less time ( Read more... )

I would love to! Thanks so much, Marly. My parents are in France for the whole of Christmas (besides that Ministry party at the Potters' which they're Apparating back for), so that'd be perfect. I don't want to be a burden on your family or anything, and Christmas Day is quite a family day, so I can stay at school until then and maybe Floo over on Boxing Day or something?

Oh no, you have to come for Christmas! My parents would be dismayed if they knew you spent it alone at school when you're quite welcome at our home! I'm sorry, but I'm simply not going to take no for an answer. And we might even be able to go to James' party as well, and you could see your parents. If you want to, that is.

You're serious? Thank you so much, Marly, that'd be great! I'd love to come. And yeah, I'd like to see them, and to go to James' party thing. Would that be okay with him?

Of course I'm serious! Really, I can't believe you ever expected me to let you stay at Hogwarts! I asked James, he said it's fine, so we have that to look forward to as well! I'm sure your parents will be pleased to hear you're coming!

Well, I didn't want to be a bother or anything. And that'll be so cool! I'm sure they will be pleased-- they didn't exactly want me to stay at Hogwarts, but the only alternative was Christmas with the house elves. I'm really looking forward to the holidays now!

Oh please, as if you'd be a bother. The more the merrier, I say. Well that's good to hear, I can't imagine not looking forward to school holidays!

Thanks. And I do look forward to them normally, I was just feeling a bit sorry for myself, spending Christmas at school and all that. But now I don't have to, which is great!

I don't blame you. I've never stayed at Hogwarts for holidays, but I expect it would be rather dull. Though we will have to put up with Matt, remember how annoying he is? We'll just have to figure out some way to make him leave us alone. The sooner the better, I think.

I've never stayed before either, and since not many other people are staying so far as I know, it would've been strange. Not exactly the Christmas I'm used to. And don't worry about Matt-- we're seeing James on Boxing Day, aren't we? We can put up with Matt until then, and then ask James for inspiration.

We've been lucky in that way, I suppose! Good idea! James would know the perfect way to keep him away. Or else to just play a very amusing (for us) prank on him!
