More Bad News [closed]
What had possessed Marlow to agree to an overnight shift following the reunion was beyond the witch. With the news of Parvati's death circulating around the school, it had been an incredibly difficult day. The students were all abuzz with the murder, discussing what it felt like to be so close to the scene of the crime. She felt jealous for a moment when she realized that this was the most interesting thing that had happened since any of these students had stepped foot inside of Hogwarts.
Her own school years were filled with consistently bad news.
She sighed heavily, weary from the last fourty-eight hours at school and excited to sleep in her own bed. She collected her things before stepping into the hearth within her office. Each teacher's suite was connected to the Floo Network - a new addition all the staff could thank McGonagall for. It made traveling home in situations like this incredibly easy, for which she was grateful.
"Linney-O'Dannihugh residence!"
With a soft cough, Marlow stepped out of her office and into her living room back at the apartment she shared with Riley. He was the only face she wanted to see at the moment.
"Riley?"
She wandered through to their bedroom to see him sleeping in their bed, sheets tangled all around him. She leaned in the doorway, her elbow propped against the door jam. She couldn't help but smile as she watched his sleeping form. She dropped her things on the floor beside her, kicked off her shoes, pulled off her robes and climbed into bed next to him. All the exhaustion had caught up to her.
As she snuggled against him, he let out a small breath before wrapping his arms around her.
