I had a good weekend!
I saw my parents and my brother on Friday. He and his girlfriend just moved to our neighbourhood. I'm really stoked about that. They lived out in the suburbs before now.
On Saturday Trent and I did some gardening (planting seedlings to grow indoors, mostly. and planning the layout of the garden) and then I rode my bike to Value Village and got four shirts, two pairs of shorts, and a skirt for $60. I love you, VV. In the evening Adam and I just chilled at home.
Yesterday Trent and I did some more gardening -- planting seeds outside and adding things like fertilizer and lime to different parts of the garden. I'm excited. Our list of things in the garden is very long indeed, including: kale, radishes, carrots, spinach, salad green mix, sage, mint, rosemary, thyme, parsley, cilantro, oregano, tarragon, fennel, shallots, green onions, tomatoes, habaneros, ancho peppers, and broccoli. And probably some other stuff I forgot. I'm feeding off Trent's ambition -- if I had done this myself I would have done it on a much smaller scale. But it's going to be great.
In the evening Adam and I went to see How to Train Your Dragon with Ranae. It was ridiculously cute and fun. I loved it. The dragon is so much like Zuul! The only thing that was weird is that the vikings for some reason had Scottish accents. I guess they figured we (the North American audience) could parse vikings as highlanders? I'm not really sure. anyway, a minor quibble. So are we currently in a golden age of Pixar and Dreamworks? It feels like every movie of theirs that I bother watching (Ratatouille, Kung Fu Panda, Up, and now this one) is totally awesome. Yay for that!
I'm reading The Help by Kathryn Stockett. I was totally stoked about it, and then I found out the author was a white lady and I was like WTF, and then I found out she was raised by a black maid and then it started making sense to me again. It's a page-turner, definitely a good story. I'm about halfway through and liking it.
Also I have been playing Civ 3 (yes, that old addiction) lately so that's been eating 3-hour chunks out of some of my days. So. Not much internetting lately. I got to page 80 on Tumblr (which I started browsing yesterday) and then started at the beginning again and I'm at page 30. Fudge.
