Now, THIS is LJ-worthy

We've been so busy and we've gotten so many wedding- and non-wedding things done, and yet, this post is about a game show.

I'm watching "Street Smarts" right now, which I must say is one of my favorite game shows of all time. If you're not familiar with the show, you can jump to the cut to read my

There are two contestants. There are 3 "people on the street." These are the same 3 people for the entire episode. The host, Frank Nicotero, asks the three people some random question and the contestants get money if they correctly predict how the peeps on the streets will answer.

The game consists of three rounds. The first round, the same question is asked of all three people and the contestants have to guess which one got it right. Second round, out of 2 peeps, one question, contestants have to guess who got it wrong. Third round, each contestant picks one peep and predicts right or wrong for that one peep. Each of these rounds consists of three questions. The last round is the "Wager of Death" and both contestants pick one peep, wager a sum of money (not to exceed their own) and predict right or wrong, all Jeopardy-style. For all 4 rounds, Frank tells the contestants the question he asked before they have to make their guess.

The fun thing about this show is that the questions are things that *everyone* should know. Things like "What is the official language of Australia?" and "According to the old saying, a penny saved is a penny, what?" and "Use this word in a sentence." and then Frank shows them a card with something like "MINUET" written on it. (The answers, of course, being "Scottish," "spent," and "I'll be there in a minute!" respectively.)

This particular episode is the most awesome episode I've ever seen. Instead of having the same 3 people on the street for the whole game, there are different people for each question. And there is only one question in the entire game. For all rounds, all peeps, Frank asked:

"How many states are in the United States?"

This means that 27 people were asked this question for this episode. Most people said 52. Some said 54, a few got it right (50) and one guy even said 32. One of the girls that said "52" said that she thought that Hawaii and Alaska counted. Amazing and sad, and yet REALLY funny.

Like I said, totally LJ-worthy. :)

all in fun, games
