There were several reasons for a trip to Vermont this weekend. First, I'm starting to think I can't go 2 weeks without seeing
grinning_fox . Either that or I'm saving up for the bad part of winter where there could be a 2 month stretch of crappy weather. Second, it was
lilithparker 's housewarming party. Third, there was a good chance of girly mall time stuff happening :-)
Friday was mostly get there, have dinner, watch movies, veg & plan out the next day.
Saturday - farm chores then we all piled into the car and headed to the mall. I am amused that mom of
grinning_fox didn't think we would want her along. Of course we do! To the mall, lunch, poke about Williams-Sonoma then to the main event - Sephora!! We messed around in there for about 90 minutes while I picked out a couple things and the Fox got a makeover. Yay for girly mall stuff. Her dad reminds me of my dad, patiently waiting for makeup, dress fittingings, whatever. I only scared him once. He suddenly realized that I am old enough to be an actual Valley Girl/Mall Rat, which I proved by speaking in the foreign tongue. The Fox said she looked over and wondered why he suddenly looked like I had kneed him in the groin. Well.....
Home again where I did the world's fastest presto-chango to party clothes and full face of makeup. I was back down the stairs in less than ten minutes. Some how we realized too late that we had spent too much time doing chores, then too much time at the mall and that we were going to be very late for the party. We did arrive before the end. Had fun. Chatted with friends. Stopped by phoenixskywind's on the way home since I haven't been able to catch her at home the last few times I've been in town.
Homeward one more time for dinner, goofing off and movies.
This morning was farm chores in the sleet. I could have begged off, but like I'm going to do that? 4 of us can get everything done and get out of the cold faster than 3, so out I went. All the animals were odd today. One of the alpacas kicked me in the ass. No damage but I was no where near them for that reaction. Then Lacey decided that since she has decided to allow me to feed her cookies, that I should have a supply of them in my pocket, and demanded that I hand them over. And pet and snuggle her continuously. The goats were determined to make me slide facedown in the muck for their enjoyment (they failed). Shota wanted me to know that she could fit her entire head in my water mug. Then brought me one of her babies. Then brought me to her toys to play. Then demanded I act as platform so she could watch The Fox put on the new makeup, and the list goes on and on. Maybe it was because we let the bunnies out to play and it threw the equilibrium off? The Fox thinks perhaps delayed, residual giddines from my presence.
Long drive home and here I am back in the barn. Ten days before we fly to San Francisco for Christmas and play with my brother for over a week, then the Harmony House High Holy Day of parties NYE, then I don't know while
roadflare's in town, then down to VA for me and Fox roadtrip back via Philadelphia for a fashion show something that we're doing and I think that's enough thens for now.
