Woman, you tear me up with the things you write!! Wow. I loved every bit of this, from your perceptive descriptions of the characters' machinations to the modern take on the classic changeling tale. As soon as the narrator admitted to having bite marks, the narrative took an unexpected turn, and it gave me chills. That was brilliantly done. I want to read more, but, as a testament to your skill, I don't have to--this is a complete, satisfying story on its own.

I am comforted to hear you say so. I was having a hard time letting go of these characters by the end. I had all sorts of back story and behind the scene conversations floating around in my head that just didn't make it into the narrative.

You do a great job of capturing the discomfort, awkwardness, stilted elements and underlying dread of the story, and the inherent eerie, eventually sinister elements seep out methodically and horrifically.
