Heh, getting up at 1pm really helped. In fact, I even got a full nights sleep. I know I did, cos when I woke up about 12:30pm, my glass of orange was COMPLETELY full. Which means I didn't wake up at all. Which is cool.
The ever-continuing mission of tidying my room continued today and as expected, I found some lost gems. These included old game treatments from 1997, my Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade manual, hundreds of former newsletters I'd written for Danger Zone (including a interview with Mark Lovegrove circa 1998). Damn, I so gotta put that up somewhere. It's nostalga!
You can see in this thrilling picture how the former corner of my room has been transformed into... Well, it's still a corner but it's tidier. All my DVD's are now on a shelf. The books above them are all film-making related. My DV camcorder even has it's own place. Yep, this is the film-making corner! The cupboard is going to move over a little and a smallish desk in which my decent PC will sit is going to live there.
Look closely and you can see some socks on a tripod and the Mittens 02 football. Crazy shit.
Okay, so I admit. Not tidying your room for over three years is pretty lame. Some people are messy at work, really tidy at home. Others, vice-versa. Me, I'd like to be both. And if I plan to work from home, then charity really does start in my bedroom. People often ask how near completion FoY is. Screw that. Let's go a bedroom tidy completion. 20%. And that's pretty good.
My room certainly needs this sort out. It's going to be cool when it's done. One side is going to be strictly game-making related, the other side is film-making related. Two desks. A bed. Some drawers. ORGANISATION damnit!
Finally, a fun find for today. I interviewed myself back in 1997.
..What about those Ted Lansing games?
They were the start of my adventure series. I enjoyed making them but they got too boring.
What was "The Lost Gem"?
Now that really was my first adventure game. I enjoyed making the demo, but after that I gave up on it.
You gave up on "Mystery X" too?
Yeah. That game was boring to make.
Wow. Not only am I obviously a really interesting person but also I never give up!
When do you plan to release FoY?
..Uhh.
