So far we have taken
boi_evil's car, with the snakes, up to the rents house. My father is none to happy about that, since he HATES snakes. Well I DID put a sheet over the tanks, not my fault he had to look under them!
The evac area is still on the other side of Mt Helix from us, so that is good. We are packed and ready is need be.
I still can't get ahold of Rachel. Cell use is really bad right now. I have no idea if she and Laura are getting any info on the ship. It would suck if they ported and THEN were told what's going on.
So yeah. We are safe. Most of my friends are ok. I still don't know if I will have a job. Toni said (last night) that they let people into RB, but once in, you can't leave. She can kinda see the winery from where she is, and she saw lots of black smoke and a few glows. That place was built in the 1800's, so you can imagine all the wood structuring. Not to mention the grape and olive groves. And the barrels.
I'll keep everyone posted.
For those of you who have never seen a firestorm up front. Imagine...EVERYTHING around you is either burning, smoking, or you think may. Hurricane level winds (35-100 mph) blowing the flames, some up to 200 feet high, and blowing "crap"-ashes, dirt, bits of whatever- around. Your car looks like it snowed, only ash. The light outside is this orangey, almost like sunset with lots of smog color, only it's noon. SD is one of the biggest cities in the country. Most of it is burning, burnt or an evac site.
