Serious Post Time... put on your serious hat and serious underwear and lets get to work...
I was thinking about pornography the other day, but not in the way you're supposed to think about it. I was thinking about how unproductive things like sex(pornography), drugs, or basiclly having fun are. In the moment of when the fun thing is happening your brains are all like "do it!" with no explanation as to why you should do it. There is no good explanation for a motive for pleasure(i dont only refer to sexual pleasure but also things like eating or socializing) One could say that the motive for pleasure woul be attached to survival techniques that are now obselete. Stay with me.... for instance, many centuries ago a monkey's pleasure impulse for sex would make him procreate, or his pleasure impulse for food would make him find food, or even his social pleasure impulse would make him talk to other monkeys in monkey talk making them communicate so they could hunt more efficiently. In those times those pleasure impulses would help a species out but the problem now is that humans don't need a huge impulse to go out and find something like sex or food because it's right there at our fingertips. The impulses are almost too strong. They don't need to be that strong because everything we need is right there. We don't need as much ambition to go to McDonalds as a monkey needed to chase down a cricket for four days and kill it with a rock. Therfore we don't need as strong as pleasure impulses to create that extra ambition because we don't need the ambition. I just injected three gallons of heroin into my face so I don't know if it makes much sense. I'm sorry for the most boring post ever. You may now put your party hats back on.
