Ah, I've been half staring at this chem book and half wasting time on my laptop for the past say... 3 hours?
The homework isn't even that hard, I just don't feel like doing it right now.
Might as well be somewhat productive and throw a post out here.
- For dinner, I sliced one of my steaks into thin strips, sauteed them with half a bag of mixed vegetables, and just ate it all over rice. It was okay, it would've been nice to add some soy sauce while I was cooking, but I just made due with the salt and pepper that I had. In related kitchen news, I brought back from home corned beef, vienna sausage, plenty of bags of frozen vegetables, a few tomatoes, an onion, and saran wrap so I can finally save leftovers. YES!
- I smuggled one of my arnis sticks from home in a pillow. My parents wouldn't let me bring my sticks originally because it's school policy not to have any weapons in possession, but I just neeeeed to have a stick around me when I study sometimes. It's kind of like... if you've ever seen the movie A Few Good Men, where Tom Cruise says he thinks better when he has his bat? That's me. Sometimes I just need to be able to twirl a stick around, let my muscle memory take over, and shadowbox a little bit for my mind to settle down. And it's not like it appears to be a deadly weapon or anything. It's just a stick. I could just use any old stick that I have lying around here (then again, who the hell has sticks lying around their place anyway?), but it's just not the same as my trusty rattan one.
- Tickets I need to purchase soon: The November 1 Ghostface/Rakim/Brother Ali concert at the Catalyst (backed by a full 10-piece funk band!!) and the Niners vs. Bengals game Sat. Night on December 15.
- I really hate school. I was talkin with my friend Ryan about how only the first year of college is really college, everything after that is just school. While there's a good counterargument to that point, I can see the truth in that too.
