I think the nice part about having all these freshman stumble around campus is how much energy and enthusiasm they bring. I forget I was the same way last year, introducing myself to the person next to me on the bus all the time, saying hi to the strangers sittin beside me in class and askin where they're from. I really liked that, everyone is just so friendly and approachable. It reminds me not to be afraid to meet new people, and also how important it is to see familiar faces.

I'm sure I see at least a thousand faces a day, but the only ones that really stick out to me are the familiar ones. I really hate seeing a face that I know, and the person has that look that he/she recognizes me too, but we just don't acknowledge each other any more than a half grin. For these freshman, who are just aching to see someone that's not a stranger, it's refreshing to see them break through that awkwardness and actually try and make conversation with them. I mean, I'm sure they're still in that stage still where they still can't believe they're in college, and this is all just still welcome week and in meeting people mode. But... it's a damn nice mode to be in.

Anyways, it rained earlier today. It would've been crazy if it rained through the night... and for Porter Run to happen the first Friday of the year. Hahah, I'ma be ready with my camera this time around though =)
