♦♦/◊/♥ "I won't hunt with a human who doesn't know how."
San is the daughter of Moro, who was abandoned by her parents as a baby in order to save themselves from the wolf god's wrath. San is a strange girl that lives in the forests and hunts for her own food. At first Sokka didn't think much of her, but after meeting her, he felt the call of the wild drawing him back into the hunt. A few more encounters seems to have improved her tolerance for his company. Although he's oblivious to it, she's even started teasing him.
When San was drafted, Sokka had to be the one to tell her she was going to war. Feeling concerned for her, he convinced her to fight alongside him and his friends and during that time, something of a bond developed - perhaps. A month later, he would find her after being returned from a kidnapping and he and his sister spent over a week caring for her, even in the midst of Toph returning home. Although San might not ever call him a friend, Sokka would. That means she's someone he'd try to protect, if he could. Who knows? Maybe he and Katara can convince San that humans aren't so bad.
