Sokka the 38th - [Action]

Jul 24, 2010 20:06

[Shortly after the draft meeting, Sokka has been hanging out inside, pouring over the recon information Albert had provided a month prior, and matching it up with what Caesar had gone over. He wasn't the designated leader of his team, not really. There was possibly more qualified people for that. Brook and Erza came to mind, for that. Still, he ( Read more... )

[Similarly interested in the recon info, Buffy has also been hanging around. And in so doing she spots the young man she had been speaking to, before. The one who had commented on her status. Whatever that meant.

So, Sokka. A rather petite blonde greets you with an overly confident smile.] Ellohay, Okkasay.

[Good grief, she's tiny in real life! For a moment, he stares at her in confusion before- oh, right.]

Uffybay. Oodgay... otay... eesay... ouyay?

Y-yeah. Sorry about that. It kinda breaks down after a while. Pesky vowels. [She shrugs but seems otherwise unperturbed.]

How's the axe-gun coming? [Clearly, these are jokes.]

[Oh good, they can talk normally. In answer to her question, he holds up both of his hands.]

I haven't cut anything off. I'd say that's a good sign.

Yeah, limb loss this close to the fight? Major suckage. Keep up with all that non-amputation and you'll go far.

Although if I do lose something, my friend Winry could build me an automail arm. [He sounds somewhat okay with this, but he's clearly joking.]

[This is the second time she's heard of Winry's robo-abilities. Huh.]

There are, like, five dozen oogie-boogie healers in these parts. I'm sure one of them could keep you from going all Terminator.

... but Terminator does sound kind of cool. [Whatever that means, anyway.]

Unless you're more Robocop.

... Robo what? [Stop slinging your vernacular around, Buffy. You're going to hurt someone.]

[But without 21st century California girl vernacular, how would life be worth living?]

He's a cop. Who's a robot. Or...something. The point is that amputations lead to really cheesy storylines.

[Well that actually makes sense to Sokka! Clearly he's been in Luceti too long.]

Yeah... that's what my friends say about my stories about the sword-handed man.

And the sword-handed man is...who? A literal man with literal swords for hands?

[She winces. And maybe even flails her arms a little bit.]

[He's actually someone Sokka made up, buuuut... His voice becomes low and dare I say it? Spooky.]

His name was Wong Feng. The greatest sailor adventurer swordsman in the world. However, he was one day attacked by firebending pirates. They tortured him and burned his arm off up to his elbow. But that night, while the pirates slept... he escaped the brig and killed off all the pirates. Afterward, he had his lost hand replaced with the pirate captain's sword. They say that even now, he haunts the seas, killing any pirate he sees. A floating sword... with an invisible body!

Huh. Have you told that story to Jack Sparrow? 'Cause I think he could use something to be afraid of.

[She shrugs, offering the suggestion as lightly as possible. Oh, and she is totally trying not to believe the story, Sokka. Except...there had been this one vamp who had replaced a lost hand with wicked looking claws...hmm.]

No. Do you think he'd like it? [Now he kinda wants to go do that. Too bad he won't have much of a chance, draft and all.]
