If by "Pokemon" you mean this... [The view drops to the Chikorita again, who looks up and smiles, eyes sparkling.] What exactly is going on, though? Why are we here instead of back home, for one thing? And why Pokemon?

Ruka isn't with me... you mean she's not with you? [Aki frowns. Rua without Ruka just doesn't seem right.] But I'm glad the others are here as well.

They're like Duel Monsters, but real instead.

We.. we can't go back home, not right now. I haven't seen Ruka in months, way back in the summer when I came here.

That makes more sense, I think... but they're not Duel Monsters, though. They didn't need to be summoned, as far as I know. So, could we have been the ones summoned somehow, instead?

You haven't...? But if you've been here months, that doesn't make any sense. I just saw you and Ruka after I got my license officially, and that can't have been more than a few hours ago.

Is that what these capsule things are? For holding Pokemon? That must be why this "Chikorita" came out of one. But how in the world...?

[She examines an empty one from top to bottom, opening it up and straining her eyes to study the inside, but there's no indication of how it works. Eventually, she gives up and closes it, dropping it back in the bag.]

From the past? Really? How far back is "the past", though?

...If there are people from the past, could we be in the past as well? It would explain the outdated technology, at least.
