gone but not forgotten

Green Lantern
◊♦♦♦The Green Lantern didn't exactly make the best impression on Katara, for all that he is powerful and speaks of justice - in fact, his words impressed her a lot more than he did. She responds to his almost palatable air of authority the same way she does to any authority - with respect and rebellion, depending on whether or not she thinks he's right. Other than that, she's not really sure what to think of him.

Nash
♦♦♦Katara's conversations with Nash have the uncomfortable habit of being extremely challenging to her worldview and long-held perceptions. He's more Sokka's friend than hers, but their interactions have been significant and timely. She believes him to be dangerous, and yet he's like a knife in its sheath, hidden up a sleeve. She might be wary around him, and react to the things that he says, but she appreciates his perspective.

Tanyuu
♦♦♦Katara heard about Tanyuu long before she actually met her, a fact which she has no intention of telling the older woman. Ginko's admiration of her shown through so clearly in his stories about her, that she would feel like she was betraying a confidence if she ever let on what she knew. Though she's only spoken with Tanyuu a few times, it's easy to see why Ginko admirers her so much.

Tormod
♦♦The first person she's met since coming to Luceti, Tormod worries Katara with his apparent lack of common sense when it comes to things like the weather and his health. But he's a gallant, cheerful boy and she appreciates his offer of a cloak when she was freezing. Sadly, he also seems to have the habit of saying the exact wrong thing at the exact right time to tick Katara off.

Alexei
♦♦◊Alexei is someone she keeps meeting when he is in pain. The first time was the most severe, responding to a call for help from Nami, Katara and Toph found Alexei lying in a pool of his own blood. She healed him, and never received an answer about what happened other than that it was personal. She's healed him twice more, both in relation to being mallynapped. She doesn't know much about him, but he's shown both the annoying grown-up trait of thinking that he knows her limits, and then the more interesting one of backing down and listening when she challenged him on it. She feels somewhat responsible for him since she keeps healing him, but other than that doesn't think of him much.

Repede
♦♦♦The Mystery Dog that brought a chibified Sanji to the Avatar house, Katara and Repede have 'spoken' a few times. She doesn't know how intelligent he is, but due to the pipe and wings thinks that he can probably understand more than the average dog. He lets her pet him, and most recently she poured out her heart to him on a riverbank. It will be interesting to see what happens when she learns just how special he is.

Tir
♦◊Tir is from the same world as Caesar and Hugo, but from a different time period. He's apparently been through a wa or several, and Katara has no reason to doubt that. She keeps getting the feeling that he isn't telling the whole truth when he speaks, and that bothers her. All the same, she'll be happy to test her new skills with the bo on him when the time comes.

Hugo
♥♦Katara likes Hugo - he's another one of those people who genuinely seems to want to do the right thing. They come from a similar culture, although he's from the plains and she's from the poles, and there is some comfort in just finding someone she can relate to in this crazy world. She trusts him enough to ask him to help her learn how to fight with a knife, and is looking forward to getting to know him better because of it.

Toph
♦♦♦♦The Late Addition. When Toph first joined their group, Katara was delighted to have another girl in the mix... only to find out that Toph was just as bad, if not worse, than the boys. Sometimes she's a little envious of how easily Toph can fit in and 'be fun.' Toph challenges her, doesn't listen, and is more stubborn than rock. But despite all this, or maybe even because of it, Katara values Toph very highly. Katara admires how capable Toph is, her skill at bending, but she also sees a young girl whose parents rejected her and who is oddly vulnerable at times, and that makes her want to take care of her. Toph might have been late in joining, but she's one of their family now.

Edward Elric
♦♦A childhood friend of Winry's who is missing one arm and one leg. He is arrogant, but in a way that leads Katara to think that he can back up his high opinion of himself. He's shown compassion, understanding, and the ability to withstand pain for a purpose - these are all things she likes and approves of. He has his secrets, and she can respect that - as long as they don't get anyone else hurt.

■■■■■□□□□□
Roku
♦♦At the moment, Katara's response to Roku is something along the lines of 'OMG, WHAT.' He's from 200 years in her past and she knows certain things about his future that are just... not good. And he is indirectly responsible for the war that has ravaged her world for the past 100 years. But as a person, he's slightly dopey, helpful, and compassionate - and fully possessed of that innocence which touches someone who's never known war. As of now, he's been invited to stay in Aang's room, and she counts him as a friend.

Ty Lee
◊◊◊Katara absolutely can. not. stand. Ty Lee's method of fighting. It takes away what she worked so hard for, goes against the flow of life, and generally makes her feel helpless. It also has an unfortunate resemblance to bloodbending, something about waterbending she'd much rather forget. It's from this point a large amount of her antipathy for the enemy girl stems. But in Luceti... Ty Lee is lost and alone, and her brother has told her that she helped to save his life. As Katara noticed Ty Lee and Sokka becoming closer, she decided it was time to talk to the other girl, not only about her past but about the attitude she perceived Ty Lee having in regards to herself. The long and short of that conversation convinced Katara that Ty Lee was completely self-absorbed, ignorant, and unrepentant for what she'd done. She's done reaching out to her.

Azula
◊◊◊◊◊Azula killed Aang right in front of her. Yes, her bending the Spirit Water was able to bring him back to life... but that is something that Katara will never be able to forgive or forget. Azula is not a personal enemy, and Katara is not afraid of her, feeling that her bending is a match for the other girl's, but she's cautious of the other girl's skill and drive... and learning that Azula eventually descends into insanity isn't exactly comforting. She's scary enough 'sane.' Katara is not going to actively seek Azula out in Luceti, or attack her without fierce provocation, but she wouldn't mind seeing the other girl accidentally light her own hair on fire.
