He's got a HUGE Talent....!?

So, this weekend didn't quite meet my expectations, but then again, they rarely ever do.  I had a marvelous time trying though!!  It started Thursday night at KoC, many of you were there (you know who you are...) along with our Aussie friend from New Orleans (confused yet!?), Russell.  He and I had a wonderful time talking about god knows what, for about 2 1/2 hours (give or take).  I could tell something was cooking, when two people (again...you know who you are...) decided to play matchmakers with us.  One was kinda discreet: "Here's some paper and a pen, exchange phone numbers, so you can go out together!".(I gave him my number, he couldn't remember his due to it being a Go-Phone)  The other not so discreet: "I don't have to look at my address book to get MY phone number" (said as my number was written down on said paper and shoved into said Aussie's pocket.  It was a very sweet gesture on both parts, a little embarrassing, but I know how much you both love me, and want to see me happy, in your odd way.  Thank you.  I even invited Russell to go with us to Hunter's on Saturday night after the play.

Friday:  Work went well, as it has been ever since the CV program went into full swing.  I actually left the hospital on time for once!  I decided I needed to get out and dance.  Kristi was a bit tired and decided to stay in.  I met up with Kendall at Hunter's and we hung out until closing.  Had a really nice time talking, dancing.  We exchanged some secrets and braided each other's hair...uh...wrong movie...  No good looking guys though.

Saturday: Leila and I watched Monster's Inc. while Kristi and mom got mani/pedi's.  Kristi and I met Paul over at Iguana's for a quick bite before the play.  Lysistrata may be over 2000 years old, but with a little nip and tuck, is just as relevant today as it was in ancient Greece...somehow even more so.  That coupled with 2 very hot cast members....ugh...where was I!?...oh yeah, that's right...made for an enjoyable evening at the theatre with Timeh and Bruce.  We all mosied on down to Hunter's to finish the night where we met up with some of the cast and crew of Lysistrata and Lisa!  They really are a lovely bunch of people, and after having seen many of them bare all...  Anyway, I keep losing my train of thought... Russell showed up shortly after and hung out with us until we left around 1:40am.  A bomb landed in the patio though, as I found out that he has been 1/2 of a happy couple for 13 years.  Oh well, I can't say I blame his partner for hanging around so long.  He is becoming a fast friend and fun person to hang out with.

Sunday:  The ladies and I spent all day (save for a few hours where Kristi went to softball practice) going through old photos from my grandmother.  I'm still left in awe when we go through old photos.  We can't recognize many of the people, but it's interesting to see faces of people in the past.  Better yet, we found pictures of my grandparents in their 20s and 30s.  Kristi noted that I have my grandfather's laugh (fully body and contagious).  We also found a set of ceremonial sake cups that my grandparents brought back from Japan on one of their many trips.  They were in a simple wood box with gold leaf "hiragana".  The cups themselves are gold-plate with the chrysanthemum set into the center.  My mother commented that I should use them when I get married...I had to remind her that I needed to have a boyfriend before that could ever happen...well that, and the legalization of same-sex marriage in California...  They are now displayed on my bookshelf.  We ended up at KoC last night singing away the hours.  I was highly surprised to see Casey there, for once...haven't seen him around in a long time.  Also met one of the bartenders from TD's, Lee (aka. Ling-Ling), who just so happens to be a Helio subscriber...the first one I've met!  Now I know I'm not alone!!  He showed me a few sites to check out on my Ocean.

All in all, a nice weekend.  Again, not exactly how I would have had it run, but I can't complain.  I've come to the conclusion that I am too nice and "safe" when it comes to meeting men.  Who knows what they really want!?  Eventually, I'll have what one of them has been searching for all his life...Until then, fuck 'em!!
