An American Johnny?

There been a lot of U.S. teen idol successes through the years: Jackson Five, Hanson, New Kids on the Block, the Backstreet Boys, 'N Sync, and many more. Most have a big name producer behind them: someone who packaged good looks, catchy songs, magazine pictures, and TV clips for a million-selling hit artist. Sound familiar? Well, yeah, and don't sell American boybands short, but nobody in the U.S. has ever had the repeated awesome success of Johnny Kitagawa.

However, you do have to give producer Maurice Starr some credit for bringing us New Edition and New Kids on the Block. Throughout the 1980's and early 90's, pop radio stations in the U.S. didn't go for too many hours without playing a song produced by Starr.

Now he's back and bringing us a Christmas song from the HeartBeat Boys. Okay, he hasn't forgotten how to put together a group of cute kids who can sing, that's for sure. Check out the website and their YouTube video, and feel free to pick out your favorite HeartBeat Boy. But as you do, remember that nobody does it better than Johnny's Entertainment. Not even close.
