Google's ad network seems highly influenced by my most recent searches, rather than using a predictive model of "you might also like". This got annoying again lately after I searched for a particular virtualization storage company and kept getting invitations to download their white paper appearing all over the place.
(Incidentally, this does not appear to be a good ad buy on their part. I *already* visited their web site. How are their ads going to further influence me?)
So I tried to think of what I could replace those ads with. I searched for and visited a few fractional jet ownership sites, and sure enough, all the previous ads have now been replaced with ones for NetJets. Now I'm wondering how far I could push this--- what else could I search for that is massively disconnected with what I'm actually interested in purchasing (and able to)?
I would tend to think that 6 or 7 figure items are about the limit of web advertising, but maybe the right keywords would start showing me $10M office buildings for sale...
