I've been married for 11 days now! It's about time I got to writing about it in here. The wedding was awesome. My left foot was hurting a little bit during the ceremony, but other than that, it was flawless. Megan was absolutely beautiful. We had a little setup meeting before the ceremony. I was up at the front of the church, and she came up from behind and tapped me on the shoulder. I couldn't help but cry a little. She absolutely took my breath away. The photographer was awesome, and we got a few pictures back from him already. They're excellent. Everybody loved the photographer, which is a rareity. His name is Clinton James if anyone is interested. He has a website easily accessible through google.
The reception was an absolute blast. We had custom made Jones soda cola that came in bottles with our pictures on it, and some fun facts on the back of the label about us. We had M&M's with our names and the date on them in our wedding colors, and also an old school black and white photo booth which was a huge hit. Instead of having a signing guestbook, we opted for a scrap book to where you can place the strip of photos of yourself and whomever you took a picture with inside of the scrapbook and write a little note to us. The DJ did a good job at the wedding, but he was impossible to work with before hand. We had to initiate all contact and even the meeting between us, whereas our photographer was always in touch with us.
The honeymoon was great also. We started off that night at the Silver Cloud Inn off of Ruston Way in Tacoma, right on the water front. Megan's mom and all of the bridesmaids pitched in to get us a room for that night. We had a picnic basket of food for the night (I recommend doing that). We did manage to pork out at the Old Spaghetti Factory too.
The next day, we stayed at the Bear Mt. Resort in Victoria, Canada, after a nice ferry ride. We also went to church that morning. It was just a very relaxing trip. The resort itself has a very relaxed atmosphere, and very nice rooms. After 2 nights there, we moved on to Vancouver. The views out of our 30th floor room was amazing. We had fun exploring Vancouver, and just enjoying each others company. Unfortunately, the last day in Canada was cut short as some thieves broke a window in my car (yes, one with wedding writing on it even) and stole a bunch of stuff, including: A Brita water filtration system, and additional filters (was the only gift we brought on the trip), Megan's 30g iPod video, and Griffin trip/charger, a USB port GPS antenna (worthless without the software, I have no idea what they stole that for), our gift to Megan's cousin Scott, including a card and gift card (which I cancelled already), and even a custom yo yo we had made for him with his name engraved in it, and a few other things. The night before I had a terrible feeling in my stomach about the car. I went down and checked on it, and grabbed a card my dad had given me that had cash in it, and my birth certificate, and a few other expensive items. Everything else was hidden pretty well. We were targeted for the writing on the car. Needless to say, I felt like killing someone. I was angry, all up in your grill.
Being at the house together is great so far. And speaking of grills, I put together a brand new BBQ grill I got the other day. I love it. It's stainless steal and manly and pretty. But mostly manly, and less pretty, but still beautiful (as beautiful as a grill can get). And that's about it. The window on the car was fixed today, and yay.
