So. Read House of M, had a mild nervous breakdown of amazing at 3 in the morning, and have since caught up with the world of comics re. the kids I care about. Am I good or am I good? ( EVERYTHING THAT MATTERS IS MAXIMOFFS. )

When he comes forth from his tent, she is there, still ahorse, her mount white and impeccable. All of a sudden, he feels the dirt and worse against his skin acutely, and he does not reach toward her-he has not had the thought or the time to wash the blood from his beard. Instead, he leans back, heavy enough on the heels of his boots that he feels them sink into the ground, and occupies his hands with the pommel of his sword.

"Come to see your father's success?" he asks, and she sighs harsh in her throat, dropping her reins.

"Come to see my husband," she says, and he is silent. She quirks a brow.

"Come," she says, "help me unhorse," and he is by her side in an instant now that she's given him a reason, his hands cupping her foot when she leans down. She reaches for his face and leans in, not bothering to dismount, her mouth finding his. A sharp sound escapes him, and her fingers curl into his hair.

It is the sweetest thing he has tasted in months.

When she breaks away, her hair is tousled, falling over one shoulder, and there is a thumbprint smudge of reddish-brown on her cheek. "Idiot," she says, voice low and fond.

He lifts her down by the waist and keeps his hand there. There is an honesty to the battlefield that he misses every time he leaves, but here, now-he kisses her and her mouth is frank as the clash of swords, sliding into careless delight under his as their feet sink into the muck, and Harry Percy's heart is glad.

OH HARRY, I SHIP YOU WITH EVERYONE. God I love this; I love, especially, that this is Sam Crane's Harry, this is his physicality and his full-of-feelings churlishness. OH I LOVE IT.
