So, I took one step closer to not having a heart attack at 40, purchasing a treadmill to get my lazy American ass in shape. It’s really cool, I can no longer make any excuse not to exercise.
However, what they don’t mention when you order:
A treadmill is heavy (160 lbs!), and after lugging it up the stairs with the help of the delivery guy, you pretty much have your workout for the day done. But the fun is not over yet. Assembly is required - when you open the box, there are nothing but abstract pieces of steel with instructions that have been translated from Chinese into Hindi, back into Chinese and then into English. Thank God for exploded views (which were included), and a 4 year engineering degree.
Although, during this construction process I began to wish I had paid more attention in IEA. All I learned from that class was a bizzare love of that Green Engineering Paper(tm). Any process that makes me wish I still had my IEA book, should be some sort of war crime.
