You know what really grinds my gears?

So I've been really sick the past couple of days. I went to target, to buy a small fortune in cold/flu products. While in the aisle, barely able to stand under my own power, I noticed something that I had known intellectually for a long time. It is impossible to buy decongestants any more.

The federal government, apparently able pry itself away from solving the Health Care problem, balancing the budget, raising the minimum wage, and solving all the Middle Eastern strife, they were able to make a law requiring you to buy Sudafed from the Pharmacy counter. Because that will slow down the speed labs in Nebraska for like 12 seconds. The reason Crystal Meth is popular in flyover states is because it is boring to live there, and your neighbor lives far enough away not to smell it or notice the explosions.

Even Nyquil, once the paragon of the cold/flu universe, just dropped Pseudoephedrine from its ingredients. It did this without notice to anyone. I almost bought it before I noticed. Who would use Nyquil to make speed? It makes no damn sense. You'd use pure Sudafed.

Meanwhile, in Target, a man sweating bullets and leaning on the shelf, cant get 12 damn tablets of decongestant that are any good. So I didn't buy any. Remind me to thank Bill Frist.
