I'd heard that rumour regarding Halloween!

Well, now, I can respect that. And certainly everything he's written isn't golden. But...okay, I won't argue. Taste is personal. But...(can't help herself) especially the first few hundred pages...god. I stopped reading him for years after I read the Stand because it was just Too Damn Scary. :-)

But "The Stand" is so good you'd not really think it's a Stephen King story. Same goes for "The Regulators", which I think he wrote under his Richard Bachman pen name.
