Hi peoples,
Long time no post, but I just had to mention this. It looks like the wonderful museum of cryptography at Bletchley Park could close if they don't sort out their funding issues. It will also mean that lots of other projects will have to be found new homes including the fantastic collection of machines at the Computer Museum.
I read about this in Bruce Schneier's Cryptogram news letter, so hopefully it will draw in a few supporters. You can check out the
zdnet article for more information, but if, like me, you want to see this amazing piece of IT history, you could go straight to the
donations and
how to help pages of the Bletchley Park website . There is also a
PM's petition which has been set up by a supporter.
If you fancy visiting (and I would be happy to organist a trip up there if people are interested) then you can buy an
annual season ticket for just £8.50 (£7 if you are a student), which you can pick up on your first visit.
It would be a damn shame for this prime piece of British History, and prime Milton Keynes real estate, were to fall into the hands of Developers who would almost certainly destroy it for what it is today.
Take care,
