Time for the chop...

So, it finally looks like spring is arriving. As such, it's about time I considered getting the face fuzz under control. I've been trying to decide what to do with it, and there are a number of options, so I thought I would ask you guys what you thought.

What I have at the moment is the standard 'full beard', mainly due to Pyrates, but laziness in trimming it played a part, as did the fact that it is nice to keep out the winter cold on chilly night time rides. Alas the longer it gets, the more unkempt it looks and quite frankly, right now it's getting a bit too wild looking for my taste.
I wouldn't mind so much if it were staying as the left image, but it looks like it's mutating towards the middle, which I'm not so happy with.

The last time I had a beard (for Troy, funnily enough - spot a trend here?), I ended up moving from a full beard to a 'spade' beard, as I got fed up of my rather poor 'tash. Unfortunately, I did get some rather derogatory comments about looking like Abraham Lincoln (you know who you are *8') and I ended up shaving off the lot. It also has many of the other disadvantages of a full beard.
The main reason I went for this style was that it didn't have all that messing around getting the 'tash groomed nicely.

The part of my facial hair that I like the most is the little tuft of hair just below my lip, so at the very least I think I'm going to try and keep that. Apparently the style is known as a soul patch - a name that might almost put me off, but not quite.
Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be able to keep just this bit without accidentally shaving it off the first time I'm a little too sleepy in the morning.

The next option I'm considering going for is a traditional goaatee. Not a huge amount of hair, so it shouldn't get too out of control and it does pretty much allow me to shave most of my face.
The big advantage is that I won't be shaving near the bit below my lip that I want to keep, so it is unlikely to get shaved off by accident. The question is whether a goatee would actually suit me.

The last option I'm considering is a circle beard. An especially nice look if I decide to go for a villain in the next society game.
Still not sure about the 'tash though, but maybe with a little more time it will start to behave itself. Otherwise it is probably almost as easy to keep as the Goatee.
So, those are my options. I'd love to hear your opinions. What do you think would look best on me? Do you have any other suggestions?

I don't have a paid account, so no poll, and I've set comments to be screened, so you can be as candid as you like. *8')

Edit: Make a note in your entry if you don't want your comment to be unscreened after I've read it.
