650+ Chlollie fics up for grabs

Nov 04, 2016 12:27

Considering that this community is shrinking more and more everyday and after seeing posts of people looking for deleted fics, I decided to upload online all of the stories I've collected into one archive. They're present on three different hosts to make sure they stay online for as long as possible.

Now, these fics only concern the Chloe/Oliver pairing and they're only a small part of the complete pool that spans over fanfiction.net, archiveofourown.org and livejournal.com. I never intended to save everyone of them and I haven't done so in regular fashion since I began (around 2011) but, as the time went by, I managed to amass quite a collection that I'd like to see being shared rather than just sitting around on my hard drive.

Some of the fics in this archive are unavailable anywhere else (having been deleted by their authors), a few are incomplete but they only represent a small fraction of the entirety of this archive. You will notice the disparate quality of the stories that have been saved as well as the fact that I haven't collected some fics that deserved to be.

There is no special pattern about them, all of the stories I give you today have caught my interest in some way at the time I read them, which prompted me to save them. With that said, there were other fics that I like, or even loved, and that I never collected. That just means I got lazy. :p

To end with the speeches now, let's look at these links:
  • First of all, because you might only be interested in a couple of fics, I made a list of the ones I'm sharing with you. It's in EPUB format which should be compatible with every ebook reader device on the market, though you might need a special software to open it on a computer.
Download it here (choose one mirror): Mediafire | Dropbox | Mega | Archive.org

  • And finally, the archive of my collection itself. It's about 350mb in size, I'm sure everyone's got enough space and bandwidth to download the whole thing without any issue. Oh and yeah, some fics might not have the best formatting - that's the result of a mass conversion that I probably shouldn't have done - although they're still very much readable!

I would also like to address a few things before finishing this post. I know I might not going to be making myself any friends with some of the authors that are still around, especially given the opinions about your rights I witnessed following the news that Energis121 deleted her fics and accounts.

Let me start by saying that we all are writing fanfictions. Meaning we actually don't have any rights over our fics no matter which disclaimer we might put when we post them online - Legally, they're worthless. Now this isn't me saying your fics aren't yours or anything. I'm a writer myself, I know this sense of belonging that we all feel towards our creations but I'll also say this:

From the moment you put your stories online - whether it be here on LJ, on FF.net, AO3 or wherever - you also implicitly agree to have your fics be copied, replicated and saved by everyone else. That's the way the Internet works.

Hopefully, I'm not being rude.

To make it clear, I've made certain that each and every fic I'm sharing now are crediting their respectful authors. Most even have links to their profiles and the fics' pages if they're still online. Nobody is stealing anything here.

After all, sharing is caring, right?

EDIT: If YOU want to download fics yourself, I recommend you use Calibre with the FanFicFare plugin. You're gonna love it!

Also, and probably the most important point I'm adding to this post, there's a guy out there who archived the entirety of Fanfiction.net, it's over 10 million fics posted up to September 2015 that have been saved. If you're interested in finding this archive go here, and download the first letter of the fandom you're interested in.

For example, if you want every Smallville fic posted on FF.net, download this (11.1 GB).

EDIT 2: I've uploaded my archive to the Internet Archive (archive.org). You can find it here, it should be online for a very long time.
