Ben Mezrich's book

The movie is based on it, right? Did any of you read it? Would you recommend it?

The prose is okay -- wouldn't rate it above some of the more mediocre fanfic you can find out here on the internet -- and the story is coherent. You get many more details on the business end of things that TSN doesn't go into; the book is much more sympathetic to Mark's reasons and Sean's concerns and more critical of Eduardo's dickish side.

There's a greater emphasis on getting girls and getting laid than there is in the movie (it's slightly closer to Sorkin's original script that way).

On the subject of girls though, would not recommend it if you're an Asian girl... Mezrich takes TSN!Wardo's "Asian girls and Jewish guys" line and blows it out of the friggin' water -- it's kind of creepy really, and honestly seriously weirded me out at more than one occasion. It's like in Mezrich's world there are blondes who are the ideal women, but if you can't get a blonde, Asians are okay too, but other than that nothing else exists. Again, it's weird and pervasive and you can try to ignore it but you can't because he won't let it go.

Anyway, if you can download it, do that. Skim through it. It's not significantly more slashy nor is it better written than the film, which is still my favourite rendition of this story.

Being an Asian girl myself (though I do find Asian jokes funny at times), is it really that offensive? though I'm kinda confused considering most if not all other Asian girls I know are generally not attracted to Jewish boys. though Jesse and Andrew are obvious exceptions xD;

Lol I never did say 'offensive', just creepy like. Kind of like when you meet someone and the only thing they'll talk to you about is how cool it must be to be Asian and how Asians are sooooo coooool. You feel a bit 'okay, cool story bro (please go away, you're making me uncomfortable)'
