Depressed

Jul 22, 2011 18:34

It's been 2 FREAKIN' days and I still haven't gotten a review for my Spider-Man/Castle story. Makes me glad that once I finish the current story I'm working on that I'm taking a break. The fan fic reading public won't have me to kick around for a while.

Oh, Mark, don't be depressed! :( It might just be because it's in the crossover section and needs a little more time for attention to get to it.

I know how you feel, though. I've been having the same trouble with my Due South stories lately. People mostly just seem to read slash, so they're passing over gen stuff or het romance stuff. :( (Either that or my stories are terrible.)

**hugs**

Even though you already know I liked it, I'll go and leave a review for you.

It's tough not too. Yeah, crossovers are tough to get reviews because they fall into their own section. What ff.net should do is let them appear in the fandoms that it was written for and then more people would get to see them.

*hugs back*

Yeah, it would be so much easier if they did it that way. I mean, they could still mark it as a crossover in the info, and then put it in each of the main sections. People could find them then.

Stories would get more exposure that way if crossovers went into the main sections they are crossing over into.

sometimes people read and don't let a review, just because they're lazy. have you looked at you stats?!

That's true. My hits aren't bad but just imagine if you got a review for every hit, wow, lol.

Awww. I've had fics up for years before they've gotten reviewed. Especially with that awful AO3 "kudos" feature *gags* It doesn't mean people don't like the fic, just means that there are a ton of people who don't understand how much effort goes into them.

I still have fics on ff.net that have just one reviewer, sad. The kudos on AO3 is the lazy person's way of reviewing. I like it when people take time to say something.

I completely understand how you feel, though not knowing enough about either continuity or canon causes me to be unable to review your story, and as such, disinclined to read it. I like to be able to offer constructive criticism, you see - from a canon perspective as much as from a "Grammar Fascism" stance ( ... )

Well, I don't expect someone who doesn't follow the fandoms to read this but it is disheartening that getting reviews for my stories lately is like pulling teeth.

Like you said, the best way to improve your craft is to get feedback and it's hard when you don't.

Keep plugging away at that project I want you to write. You know I'll beta it and I await to see it.
