Death of the charts
I am VERY saddened to hear that TOTP is coming to an end soon. Although I'm a hypocrite because I played a tiny part in killing its ratings (never get to tune in), it was a secure fixture of my Friday night as a kid! I remember watching acts like Maxx, REDNEX, Snap and Sohpie B Hawkins miming away to their beastin' 90's hits, along with the usual jargon like Boyzone. How my heart aches to see it end!
In a music magazine ages ago I saw a musical prediction timeline that forsaw the death of live acts - their predictions for number ones being based solely on internet pulicity is slowly starting to come true. Should we be frightened?:|
