Strange to have no real plans for the day. No mail to look forward to. Might be a good day to clean house.
...naaaaaaaah. :)
After seeing League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, I decided to actually read "A Picture of Dorian Gray." I've never actually read Oscar Wilde. It's standard victorian literature and while I plan on finishing the book, it's just not calling to me. Stephen King has re-released the Dark Tower Novels and I'm very excited about that. We passed the first three volumes at Costo a week or so ago and Jeff decided to pick them up. Without my prompting, no less. But they're serious books and require a certain concentration. I guess I'm jonesing for a Discworld novel or a Phule's company novel. Something that I don't feel bad about missing a paragraph or two to skimming, or having to reread a page or two because I fell asleep mid page.
Jeff's watching 8-Legged Freaks on cable. I'm thinking about taking the laptop (and it's DVD player) into bed and watching Quigley Down Under. Or finding a Discworld novel that I haven't read recently.
Do you eat avocados? Have you noticed that Haas avocados have sucked for several months? Half the avocado gets ripe; half stays unripe. For $1.99 per avocado, I'd better be able to use more than half the damn thing. Needless to say, I'm jonesing for a good bowl of guacomole...
My friend Kathy, She Who Works At Disney World, gave the address for their central staffing office and suggested that I send me resume & cover letter there. As much as I love living here in Hampton Roads, I wouldn't mind too terribly much moving back to Florida. I hear the Cam games there don't compare but my best friend becomes an easy two hour drive away and easy access to Disney cures a lot of ills.
If we stay in Hampton Roads, I want to live on Chesapeake Blvd. The view of the James River is gorgeous. I don't even mind that the view ends at the Naval Base. It's a beautiful neighborhood and Jeff needs to find a job that makes enough money for us to buy a house there...
*looks thoughtful* I guess that's enough rambling for a lazy Sunday afternoon. Time to find some munchies. Anda book. Anda comfy place to settle.
