Wow.
1. Shia LaBeouf. I'm wondering if he's doing the Tom Hank track.
2. The CGI was solid.
3. I was impressed with the physics. It was so cool seeing how speeding autobots used the transformation itself to bleed off inertia. They moved like humans to create a sympathy but also did things that machines would do, if that makes any sense.
4. I like John Turturro but I could have lived without his part in the movie.
5. Tiny moments: Bernie Mac after the windows bust out (because black people know how to read those signs); "Fifty years from now..."; the calm, cool, collected second in command of Section 7 when the SecDef says "I'm busy at the moment."
6. Last but best, this was a movie about Good versus Evil, simply told about and by transforming robots, and it rarely got campy or cheesy.
Well worth seeing.
