i really am a new yorker. i think...
went to a really nice therapist tonight. first session. 2 blocks away in a building I babysat in a lot. she's friends with that family. I liked her a lot. and it was nice to be in the surroundings of one of those old timey upper west side apartments. her office is a small room that used to be "the maid's room." my building was renovated after WWII, so the apartments are smaller and don't have the maid's rooms.
i can deal with being a new yorker again, i think. but making friends. oy. it's hard enough when one is well and working and out and about. being in my bed all the time definitely cuts down on my making friends. except for internet ones, of course.
i went to a knit night tuesday. met some very nice interesting people there. i feel like everyone here is so much more interesting than most people in dc. crazy, crazy. i lived there for so long.
and 2 of my favorite people from law school live in brooklyn --- they are married to one another now.
