I grabbed X-Men Misfits #1 from the library because archica mentioned it and it looked interesting. It's basically X-Men as if it were a shojo manga, and you know how I am about shojo crack.
It's... interesting. The art isn't bad. (Nightcrawler and Blob are adorable.) It's like it is trying too hard to be like Japanese shojo manga though, with all the chibi-fication and constant cat ears on Kitty Pryde. I'll probably read the other volumes as the library gets it though. Mainly for nostalgia purposes though.
I was SUCH a huge X-Men fan when I was a little kid. I got one of those nice compilation things when I was in second grade that had Kitty Pryde, Nightcrawler and that era of characters so this kind of brought all those good memories back. I would have KILLED for something like this to read when I was a kid, which is why I'm probably going to keep reading it now.
