It is a stylish black and white movie, graphical, full of cool visual effects guiding you through director's vision... and VERY disturbing.
I could not sleep last night after watching it. I woke about 5 times last night... It is not that the movie was scary, its the whole reality of the movie that is cutting right through you, twisting you and turning you upside down...Sometimes it makes you grin, sometimes it makes you clench your teeth, sometimes it makes you cry...and you simply can't take your eyes off this crazy grotesque world and realize at the same time how close it is to the real life...and THAT scares you...
P.S. interestingly, in this bloody violent twisted cocktail there is a message as old as times but in a more aggressive and tragic interpretation: "Love is worth killing for, worth dying for". Beautiful and horrifying like a red rose that grew from blood...
I made myself watch "Shriek" when we got back home, otherwise I would not fall asleep at all :)
