So i'm back at the dorms yay :) sitting here, reading Ecclesiastes like Noemi suggested I should. Its a pretty interesting but confusing book of the Bible. 12 chapters and pretty philosophical. Its from the point of view of an unknown author even though he/she feigns to be writing as son of David, king of Jerusalem who is believed to be Solomon or maybe a Messianic prophecy to Jesus. The reason why its so hard to understand is because its point of view (at first) seems to be that of a depressed nonbeliever who doesnt think life is worth living and that neither being smart nor being stupid will get you anywhere and I can see how many people trying to find problems in the Bible will try to use cut verses to make it look out of context. you really have to read the whole book (which im still doing) to understand. the author goes on explaining that nothing you do is good for you nor will benefit you in anyway but it concludes by saying that (in the second to last verse):
The end of the matter; all has been heard. Fear God, and keep his commandments; for that is the whole duty of everyone.
So pretty much everything is useless except God who makes everything :) but since the book is so complicated people try to distort it when its not that difficult to understand the point. I mean, theres parts that make you iffy but they get cleared up if you research it. I'm gonna try to start doing that with every book. its actually pretty cool.
Anywayyy I'm gonna keep doing that now.
ttfn world!
