ETA that didn't last long. My community has already been reinstated. Apparently it was suspected of spam but obviously wasn't the culprit and has already been released.
I am obviously not very impressed, even if it was just a bump, and the rest of my post still stands. I think I'm going to take the step to post on DW and maybe cross post here, or maybe just send LJ to the great journal graveyard in the sky. I haven't decided yet. Either way, glad my comm is back (and so quickly) but am still unimpressed and tired of all the ups and downs with this service. /ETA
So I was just trying to gather my wordcount for
getyourwordsout and noticed that my icon comm,
rockstar_pink, has that neat strikethrough.
Erin, you may say, why did you delete your community?
The answer, fair reader, is that I did not. I had to find the FAQ link (which is irritating as fuck to try from the LJ home page because top entries keep loading until you can scroll to the bottom fast enough before the links down there are pushed back down), then search for "suspended". Once I got to the link it left me with a link to click and the instruction to select "My journal has been suspended and I don't know why" from a drop down menu or SOMETHING to that effect.
But when I clicked the link there was only an email for abuse and a mailing address for somewhere in Russia.
No drop down menu, no other options.
I'm not... worried about my community exactly, but I'm kind of gathering myself to be ready to jump to Dreamwidth. I know I JUST got done saying that I was here to the end but I don't know what's going on, things are happening to stuff I'm part of and I don't appreciate it, to say the least.
If my icon comm is lost forever (say it is) I'm okay with that because everything is backed up and I hadn't posted there in months BUT WHY was it suspended? The blurb you get when you click it says "we can not discuss the reasons for which the account was frozen, with someone else other than the account holder" which sounded a bit more suspicious the first time I read it and kind of still does.
The times, my friends, are a-changin'.
Please leave me your DW handles or friend Marishna over there. That's the first time I've said that I think.
