13: what's something that made you smile today?
D and I went to a comedy show tonight and three out of four of the performers were really good. It was a random thing she texted me about today because she didn't have anyone else to go with. I was like, *shrugs* SURE! She got the tickets and I paid for her drinks when we met beforehand at a bar where I had supper, too.
The show was pretty good, aside from one guy. I couldn't tell if he was mid-40s but wearing the clothes of a 25 year-old (very young adult male without a sense of how to express that yet without a graphic tee and a plaid) or a 25 year-old with the opposite of a baby face. He just wasn't that great and couldn't read the room very well. I also found the way he constantly checked his watch to be distracting. I know comedians have set times they have to fill without going over but he was so obvious about it that it made me feel like he was just trying to get through his allotted time as soon as possible.
So, long story short, I smiled at the comedy show and most of its performers. And, of course, it was nice seeing D again so soon after the Oscars. It gave her a chance to rant when we met at her house because work is stupid and she's losing her will to continue at her job (my former employer). I hope she can slide into something that will use her skills and won't treat her like shit anymore. :(
I think Spotify confused my weekly Discover Mix with a soft-rock channel. So far I've yet to come across one song I've liked so far.
