Happy Halloweiner

Oct 31, 2016 22:02

I'm pretty relieved that I didn't have to dress up today. I suppose I COULD have but I would have been the only one out of the three of us in my office to do so and I had my first video chat with one of the other branches so, no. Definitely more comfortable without one! I've dressed up for the past seven of eight Halloweens, it was time, LOL. At the paper only three dressed up and there was no theme, as we'd done for years. End of an era, I suppose.

The video chat went well, I guess, but it was with the branch that's been a bit... difficult, from what I understand. I went in with a lot of questions to try and help me track where they are with their marketing, what they felt worked and didn't, where they wanted to go, etc. But when I asked even the very first question they basically didn't have any answers. They didn't do anything that was a goal set for them for this calendar year and, well, it's November in a couple hours. They WANT to be seen as strong company, independent from the corporate company but also part of it (???), but haven't done anything on their own to show such. Sooooo... yeah. I'll have to see how that's going to play out. They weren't resistant to me but when someone takes the time to set out a marketing plan for the year and you haven't done anything on it? Yikes. :|

I'm watching Halloween for the second time in three days. It's not scarier than when I initially watched it at 18 but I can pay better attention to the movie now and I definitely see the suspense in it, to a point. The first time I watched it was with my freshman-year boyfriend and his friends and I was so dreadfully bored I tried to sleep through it. That was before I could fall asleep sitting up at the drop of a hat. And don't even get me started on that two-bit hack's version of the remake.

I only did one of the end-of-phase challenges at tv_universe because I have too many other things to do, most of which I've procrastinated on. I did a mini-fanmix, which you can find under the cut. Sort of serves for music!Monday, too!

I chose Derek/Stiles from Teen Wolf for my fanmix.

1. Timebomb by Tove Lo
We're not happily ever after, we don't got what it takes // And we don't make plans, cause we're never gonna last // We're not forever, you're not the one // You and I, we're a timebomb

Derek hasn't had the best track record with dating and so he believes his attraction to Stiles will end in badness.

2. for him. by Troye Sivan
We make a really good team // And though not everyone sees // We got this crazy chemistry // Between us

Stiles, on the other hand, is all for taking a chance and he knows that, deep down, they'd make a great pairing and for once Derek could have a happy ending.

3. Trust Issues by Kiki Rowe
Baby, I get so scared I get so scared // that you'll open your heart (to me) // Baby, I know you care I know you care // you've been here from the start

Derek wants to be with Stiles but can't help but fall back on what he knows best and that's that everything will go to hell.

4. I want to love you by Lenachka
I want to love you // the corners of your heart know one's been to // I wanna know you // Run my fingers down the creases and unfold you

Stiles is ready, however, to peel Derek's layers like the onion he is.

I think I'd like to do the advent calendar again this year but I'm not sure if I want to include graphics or just do fic prompts. I'd LIKE to write, I think. Hmmm.
