I'm really, really enjoying Lethal Weapon. It's the perfect mix of mindless entertainment, humour with a dash of plot to keep me interested. I don't have to get too invested in it, don't have to understand a complicated backstory or conspiracy or constant revolving door of backstabbing plot points, and the characters are likable. It's refreshing. I don't want every show to be like this but considering what a rich time in TV history we're in it's nice to have a break. Not everything has to have a twist or a dark secret or a character who's gonna double-cross the hero or something, you know?

Here's a great article about this year's fall TV offerings I read a couple days ago and it sums up my feelings about the shows that have come on so far pretty well. The only one they talk about that I have no interest in (that I can recall at this very moment, anyway) is Pitch because I hate baseball and the plot holds no interest for me.

Just saw my first Christmas commercial, though. D: D: WHY WHY WHY?! Fuck Christmas.

I feel like I'm both making progress and not at work. I have a lot of learning and groundwork to do and I had a big list of things to do this week but I've only crossed a couple off. Partly because of computer issues, partly because I didn't realize how long it would take me, and partly because I'm probably not working quite as hard as I could be. I got into a good groove this afternoon, though, and tracked down a bunch of hi-res product photos on vendor sites as part of my attempt to a) understand the products and b) organize the media folders so I can move on to creating media kits for the different sites. I won't be able to finish them until I have a video call with the other managers, which I assume will happen next week when guy!C is back, but I can get them started, at least. And hopefully tomorrow I can start taming the Marketing folder in the Drive for easier access. There's just so much stuff and I'm obviously not sure what's important or not right now.

I'm enjoying myself, though, and I officially signed up for the Christmas party in December. I'm not sure exactly how it works but it seems that they go to a group corporate Christmas held at a local hotel for smaller businesses who may not have enough employees for their own party? The paper always had enough people that we did our own so I'm not sure how this works. And I'm happy that I know guy!C and A, of course, so I won't be going with people I just met, or will have in a couple months, LOL. It should be fun!
