sweet meme and nice answers! I feel like I could "stole" it for my january meme posting things... I too love Speed and Indipendece Day (even if I can't watch them any longer, as I had them on VHS and I don't have a fully fucntional video-recorder any longer).I too mean to keep up with the X-files next year, as I was a die-.hard fan...

Amen to the Mummy.

Your biggest fandom disappointment of the year?
Probably the turn Sleepy Hollow took.
Honestly I've been disappointed by everything post season 1 for the most part.

Season 2 was a MESS. I get what the writers were going for and all but it was a huge failure. The show was such a success in season 1 DESPITE there being no romance so in season 2 they... make romance a huge thing? Sure, makes sense.

The course correction helped but I haven't felt the season 1 magic in 3. I don't get the Pandora stuff, Abbie's new superior who's a past paramour is a non-starter and everything they've done with Jenny is stupid to me. We'll see how long I stay watching once it comes back after the holidays.

Omg, there was so much TV this year. Like, an absurd amount of good TV at that as well. But yeah, Sleepy Hollow was...a disappointment on colossal levels to the way that Jessica Jones was a success. Which is such a weird situation given that the writers themselves didn't seem to know anything about why they failed in the first place.

I had high hopes for season 3 because they killed off Katrina and the son last season and I thought they were course correcting but there's something about this season that just hasn't done it for me. Or rather, there isn't MUCH that HAS done it for me this season.

I think the show has lost its mojo or something. I fell asleep during the last few eps before the winter hiatus and couldn't be bothered to go back and catch up. :|

The problem is that they just lost so much momentum, that even with the reset they tried with ending s2, it was just so far off rails that a reboot wouldn't have saved it. Swapping out writers isn't going to help unless you knew what you did wrong the first time, and even then you've squandered a season.

But yeah, if you're falling asleep while watching...
